Residue

‘Residue’ builds on his previous reflections on his paternal legacy and his concerns about a dystopian modernity taking shape in India. Mehndiratta’s training in architecture and his research into engineering and urbanity enable a visual engagement with art rooted in a deep understanding of structure, material, and form.

The exhibition brings together ten major works, each pairing a large-format mixed-media canvas with a corresponding drawing in pen, ink, and earth on archival paper, and a sculptural object cast from salvaged building materials in bitumen and resin.
